We arrived around 5 o'clock and put on swim suites and did a little swimming before dinner. Rusty, of Cathy and Rusty, grilled steaks and we had baked potatoes. Caroline didn't even put up a fuss about the steak. She just kept saying "look mom, I'm eating it and I like it" and she would give me tatter and high fives. The next day I went to the local store and bought some waffles and spaghetti.
Thursday, we were out most of the day swimming and playing in the sand. Around 2:30, I was on the beach reading a book and I hear Lauren scream and start crying. I look up and I see Jack, a friend of the Bakers, pick Lauren up and start running toward me. Poor baby had been stung by a jellyfish. I have never known someone personally to get stung 'till now. I wish I could be "mom of the year" and say I wish I could trade places with her but I bet the jellyfish sting was bad. I would have not handled it as well as she did. The next door neighbor had some meat tenderizer which was good because no one had to pee.
While we were upstairs someone came in and said Jack caught a baby shark. I ran to the beach and this is what I see. He threw it back and actually, this was the second shark he caught this week.
Cathy, me, and the kids decided to leave the beach for a while and go shopping. I bought a Kavo purse and wallet and the kids got ice cream. We couldn't ride the big farris wheel they had since it was closed for maintenance.
Friday morning we went to The Hang Out and ate breakfast with Pirates. This is the fan that was in the dinning room. On the label it says Big A## fan.
Caroline, Lauren, and Red Jack the Pirate. At the start of breakfast, the kids were invited to go on a treasure hung. They dug up a pirate chest and each got a sack full of doubloons. They also got to play along in the game the pirates were playing all through breakfast.
Outside there was a huge sand mountain and a tunnel running through it. Caroline would have loved it if she didn't have to put her feet in the sand. She really hates the sand on her feet.
We did a little walking around in souvenir shops and Caroline was in heaven when she found an Alabama hat.
These are the biggest marshmallows I've ever seen. I told Lauren to see how long she could keep it in her mouth. It kept her quiet for about 5 sec.
We left Saturday around 10:00.
Things I learned: I can do anything I set my mind to. ( A fully charged DSI and games help out tremendously)
Caroline hated the beach but we had a pool under the house so she stayed there most of the time. She went with the flow and did an amazing job.
Lauren got to be free and have fun.
The girls got along great and we all had a really great time.
